Birthday Greetings to Shelly-Shelly-Bo-Belly!

Shelly: One of my Favorite People on the Planet! I wish I got to see you more often but at least I've got Incredible Memories!

As grade school playmates I had no idea what a BLESSING it was to have a friend like Shelly! Looks like we've been friends for over 40 years! Pretty cool!

You were a great pal; spending hours pulling pranks at K-Mart, rummaging in the DI box, and just wandering around Wilshire/Maywood neighborhoods looking for some action. Then, when we couldn't find the action we'd usually end up visiting your cute Grandparents! And, all the Sleepovers and Saturday morning omelets; the Hansen house was the BEST!

The next stage of life found us begging TeriLyn for rides (we were willing to go just about anywhere she was going). Always on the prowl, the 2 of us! I guess we had to start sneaking cars when Ter got tired of hauling us around. I still can't believe we'd take your Dad's truck while he was asleep before we had our driver's licenses! Don't tell my kids! For innocent, naive teenagers we were kind of fearless! Well, except for the one little incident where my fear got the best of me and I abandoned my friend in her time of need (crashing the car on 21st South). I've said it a million times but, man, I am so sorry about that! Bad moment for me in the "Be a Good Friend" department!

Then, after tons of great times as Highland Rams & Lassies we were off to discover the Big Bad World of BYU! May Hall! Girls getting engaged and passing candles the 1st week of school (such a crazy place!). And we both had our first taste of REAL church callings: Two goofballs teaching Gospel Doctrine (who would have thought?).

I'm so grateful for the fun memories. But I'm also grateful that you are someone who I still look up to and adore! Shel, you are a good example of a great wife, a cool Mom, and just an Amazing-Person-All-Around! And even with all this gushing goodness, you've kept your fun sense of humor! I feel like I can see you after a long stint of no contact and we go right back to our goofy younger selves. You can always make me laugh and you always radiate positive energy!

Happy Half Century! It's not so bad; on my 50th the AARP sent me a card INVITING me to JOIN! (Kind of nice after Dance Club, Madrigals, etc. never Invited me to Join)
Love you Shelly-Belly!
Kudos to Tony for this Fun Blog Idea - What a Guy!
Love, Kathryn (Kump to you) Knudsen
